Adventure Recreation staff facilitate the high ropes course, climbing tower, zipline, organized group games, team-building activities, laser tag, sports tournaments and assist with daily operations at the Rec Shack.

Camp High Rocks, a private boys camp in Western North Carolina, has an assistant director opening for its summer rock climbing program. Candidate should have extensive experience with climbing, instruction, equipment, and related outdoor skills.
Responsibilities: Help direct 7-8 climbing instructors. Instruct climbing skills, safety aspects, create lesson plans. Lead climbing trips on and off camp property, including occasional overnights.
Qualifications: At least 21 years of age. Experience leading climbing program, clean driving record, Wilderness First Responder, and SPI certification. Training can be offered for the right candidate.

Camp High Rocks has an opening for the director of our Challenge Course. Our course consists of 18 high elements at 25 and 45 feet. Director will lead 3 facilitators and together they will guide campers through ground school, processing, and debriefing the experience on the course.
The Director will be in charge of overseeing course maintenance and scheduling cabin groups for the course. Director will also be in charge of supervising a team of 3 facilitators and serving as the lead facilitator on the course.
Applicants should have experience and training with challenge course facilitation. Preference given to those with more extensive leadership, processing, and rescue skills.
Dates are May 23 -August 5, 2023. From $500-$650 per week for the ten-week season, depending on experience and qualifications. Room and board are included along with free laundry and Wi-Fi. Training courses available in late May.

Camp High Rocks has one opening for a director of its summer whitewater program. Director must be experienced in teaching mostly open boat, but experience in kayak and C-1 is very helpful. Rivers we paddle include the Chattooga, Nantahala, Tuckaseegee, French Broad, Green, Pigeon, and Toe.
Qualifications: At least 21 years of age, experience leading river trips, Wilderness First Responder, and ACA whitewater instructor certification (certification available prior to camp season).
Direct staff of 6-7 canoeing counselors. Create lesson plans for the program. Maintain fleet of boats and gear. Instruct canoeing on our 11 acre lake and lead trips to local rivers.
